The Tipton & Coseley Building Society has opened the doors to its latest branch, creating more choice for how people manage their money.
Located at The Square in the South Staffordshire village of Codsall, the branch was officially unveiled by district and parish councillor Megan Barrow.
Other guests joining in the celebrations included local dignitaries, business owners, residents and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC legends John Richards and Steve Daley.
There were goody bags and giveaways for the first customers and a selection of edible treats prepared by the village’s artisan bakery Medicine.
Speaking to guests on opening day, Megan Barrow said: “It’s a great pleasure to see a fresh new business arrive in Codsall and I’m sure the community will welcome the Tipton with open arms.
“We’re not only welcoming a business, but also people who care about the village and its people. We sincerely hope you prosper and do well.”
The Tipton’s chief executive Adam Evetts added: “We were delighted to share this special occasion with so many representatives from the local community, alongside colleagues from the Tipton who’ve made our new branch come to life.
“Codsall is a vibrant village, well connected and with a really strong sense of local community. Our vision is to have a positive impact on everyone we interact with and we can’t wait to see this bought to life in Codsall.”
Operating Monday to Saturday, the Tipton at Codsall offers a wide range of savings accounts and mortgage products.
Inside are three counter points for transactions, a lounge area with comfortable seating, digital information screens, and two private rooms for customer consultations.
The Tipton is an independent building society with more than 37,000 members. Codsall becomes the Society’s fifth branch, joining existing locations in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley and Bilston.
The opening has created four jobs, including two full time customer service advisors, one part time customer service advisor and a branch leader.
